Lanora Pierce [now Lanora Pierce Yates] currently works in the conservation lab at the Georgia Archives which is next door to the National Archives in Morrow, Georgia. She recently left employment at UGA where she worked for the Georgia Museum of Art in the department of exhibitions and design for 15 years (from 1996 until 2011). While there, she installed hundreds of exhibitions and facilitated many traveling exhibitions. She holds a BFA (1996) and MFA (2005) in drawing and painting from the University of Georgia’s Lamar Dodd School of Art where she received a research and performance grant from the Center for Humanities and Arts (2005) and was recipient of the Mike Nicholson Scholarship for study abroad in Cortona, Italy. As an artist, her paintings and sculpture have been included in numerous exhibitions across the U.S. as well as in Italy. She has also shown at the Fay Gold Gallery, a premier contemporary art gallery in Atlanta and Chicago, Illinois.
